Winners of the 2017 Pine Castle Woman's Club Fifth Grade Essay Contest listen to Linda Chapin's presentation at the awards luncheon hosted by the Pine Castle Woman's Club on April 12, 2017.

Linda Chapin became the first elected Orange County Chairman in 1990. She served as Orange County Chair (Mayor) from 1990-1998. As County Chair, she created over 15 parks, and led the county in purchasing over 12,000 acres of environmentally sensitive lands to protect them from development. In 2001 she became the Director of the Metropolitan Center for Regional Studies at the University of Central Florida and served as Director from 2001 to December 31, 2008.
