W. R. “Doug” Harris – Obituary 1956

MR. W. R. HARRIS

Funeral services for Mr. W. R. [Doug] Harris, 35, will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Pine Castle Baptist Church.

The Rev. R. C. Jackson, assisted by the Rev. A. M. Glisson, will officiate, and the burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery.

Mr. Harris, a native of Pine Castle and an Orlando resident for 12 years, was killed Friday in an automobile accident at Encino, Tex. He was an employee of the Sentinel-Star Express for seven months in 1955.

Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Rhoda Mae Harris, Orlando; a son, William Ralph, and a daughter, Wilma Ruth, Orlando; his mother and step-father, Mr. and Mrs. Ray Mumpower, Pine Castle; and four sisters, Mrs. Ruth Harris, Mrs. Joe Smith, Miss Martha Mumpower, and Miss Patsy Ray Mumpower, Pine Castle.

Carey Hand Funeral Home is in charge.

William Roy Harris, Jr., died in Encino, Texas on April 6, 1956 along with another man from Orlando in a traffic accident. He was buried in Greenwood Cemetery in Orlando.
