Willa Vick Griffin

Willa Vick Griffin was interviewed by Hattabel Hyer for the “Pioneer Party Line” on December 12.  She was the daughter of Sheriff John Henry Vick and wife of Samuel Sevier Griffin.  They had three daughters and at one time owned all of the property of the (then deserted) town of Windermere, FL.  Sam Griffin served in the Florida legislature for several years.

Her mother (Caledonia “Donia” Vick) left northwest Georgia during the Civil War, having to leave behind her 10 dolls …
