The downtown Panera Bread restaurant closed their doors on Tuesday, April 24, 2017 at 5 P.M.

I have great memories of lunches there with coworkers, friends, and family. The place seemed to always be popular; service was great; the staff were prompt, courteous, and helpful; the food was delicious. My favorites were their Tortellini Alfredo and the Broccoli Cheddar soup. Loved dipping the bread in that soup!

Dedicated on July 13, 1958, the Orlando Youth Center used to be the scene of teen activity for the Orlando crowd in the days before Disney. The facility located at 610 N. Lake Formosa Drive, will soon be transformed from the Loch Haven Neighborhood Community Center into the new home of the Orlando Ballet. The photos in this PDF were taken by Tim Orwick, Colonial High School graduate and yearbook photographer. Let us know if you have any memories of good times at the center!

The Hot Diggity Drive-In Restaurant was a short lived food establishment overlooking Lake Barton. It first appears in the November 1956 telephone directory, but there was not a listing in the Yellow Pages. The address at that time was 5053 Santa Rosa Drive, the street that runs semi-parallel to and just north of East Colonial Drive. In the 1957 directory the address is listed as 5098 E. Colonial Drive.
