Orlando High School classes of 1927 through 1952 gather every few years at the site of their old Alma Mater, now Howard Middle School. Howard Middle School has been carefully maintaining the classic exterior look of the original high school making it a perfect location for the reunions.
“Orlando Remembered” began organizing these homecomings in 1982. This committee also creates displays throughout downtown on the city’s past.
Betty Thornton Robinson, a member of the 1940 class, submitted one of the memory books issued to members of the class and it is available for viewing here.
The memory book is filled with photographs of members of the 1940 class from Orlando High School who gathered with other former students of the school, classes 1927 through 1952, on April 21, 2007.
Several classmates are pictured, sometimes with family members and sometimes with members of other classes, so there is a wonderful mix of faces. Many well known local family names are represented.
