After Rosie O’Grady’s and Church Street Station closed several reunions were staged at a local sports bar in Casselberry owned by two of Rosie’s former can can girls – twins Holly and Dolly. This reunion was on April 4, 2004 in honor of Don Lord and his wife Jenny who were leaving Orlando. Don passed away several years ago and his obituary and photos are on EpochLegacies.org.
The reunions were well attended and many of the original band members returned to the delight of fans.
Some of the folks you might recognize are Red Hot Mama Miss Ruth Crews, George Palmer on trombone, Bill Allred on trombone (original band leader and author of the famous waiters welcome), Warren Sauer on drums, Randy Morris on keyboard, and Don Lord (singing but played coronet and flugelhorn).
See and hear Miss Ruth singing in this promotional video about Church Street Station.
Holly and Dolly were Can Can girls at Rosie O’Grady’s, but they also had a connection to the Orange County Library System!
