Every year on September 17th at exactly 4 p.m., Daughters of the American Revolution across the nation ring bells to commemorate the signing of the United States Constitution at 4 p.m. on September 17, 1787. The Sallie Harrison Chapter was featured in a front page story in the Sanford Herald.

The Sallie Harrison Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution ring bells in front of the Sanford Museum Wednesday at exactly 4 p.m. to celebrate the signing of the U.S. Constitution which began at 4 p.m. on September 17, 1787.
Present at the bell ringing were: Pat Regent Lorraine Buhrmann, Carole Hinshaw, Mary Lynn Hassebroek, Nanci Irwin, Margo Miller, Sandy Hux, Kim Peters, Regent Laura Garand, Carol Lynn Beve and Shane Weinhouse.
