I joined Girl Scouts about a year ago. My favorite thing about Girl Scouts is it’s all about learning to be a successful woman of the future. Some people think it’s all about selling cookies. What they don’t usually think of is what we use the money for. We are using our troop money to go to Savannah during spring break. We are going to learn about Girl Scout history. Of course the money didn’t just appear out of nowhere we had to earn it. Selling cookies gives girls skills they will need in the future like, business ethics, people skills, money management, goal setting, and decision making. The way Girls Scouts helps me become a citizen of tomorrow is by doing Girl Scouts I can become a future leader…

The fifth grade Pine Castle students wrote their award winning essays on the theme: “How can I as a citizen of today grow into a citizen of tomorrow.”
This is the 68th year for the Pine Castle Woman’s Club Fifth Grade Essay Contest.
While the special luncheon for the students hosted by the Pine Castle Woman’s Club was postponed this year due to Covid-19, the awards were delivered to the students.
The Pine Castle Woman’s Club awarded prizes of $100.00 for First Place, $75.00 for Second Place, $50.00 for Third Place, and $25.00 for each Honorable Mention.
