The Sunday Bulletin for July 4, 2010,was like no other I had seen before, with quotes from Founding Fathers, Presidents and others whose names are recognizable to all Americans. The connection between the success of our Republic and our belief in God and faithful upholding of His commands is evident in the words of those who have gone before. Even the socialist Woodrow Wilson is quoted as saying “American was born a Christian nation.”
A tribute to the Statue of Liberty by it’s original name “Liberty Enlightening the World” includes the first part of Emma Lazarus’ poem “The New Colossus.”
A short bio of the only Catholic signer of the Declaration of Independence Charles Carroll is also included, identifying him as the longest living signer.
