ABOVE: Betty Hurd Cramer Celebrates 90th Birthday.
Betty Jane Kepler Hurd Cramer and her family moved to central Florida in 1951. Her husband (William P. Hurd) found employment as an accountant and became Orlando General Hospital’s first administrator before his tragic death in 1963. Betty bought the neighborhood swimming pool and ran it for decades, making it the center of the community.
ABOVE: Mrs. William Hurd of Azalea Park Garden Club displays a free form interpretive designed floral arrangement in the Sogetsu school, one of the classes in the Orlando Garden Club sponsored flower show during the Central Florida Exposition Feb. 27-March 4. The only note of color in the black and white arrangement is a red camellia. Competition in the show, The World At Our Doorstep, is open to garden clubbers in Marion, Lake, Seminole, Orange, Osceola, Brevard and Orange Counties.
