Southeast Branch Library
On Saturday, November 16th, the Southeast Branch will celebrate its 25th Anniversary! Check out the gallery below from photos from 2008! Stay tuned for more pictures from the branch celebration.
According to our records, Southeast opened in 1986 in its original location. It moved to its current location in 1994.
Quick and unique facts about the Southeast Branch
- It is the branch closest to the Orlando International Airport and customers are greeted by a Chinese Terracotta Warrior statue outside the main entrance nicknamed “Joe.”
- They have not one but two meeting rooms for local groups, associations and library events.
- They serve one of the largest Spanish speaking communities in the county and offer an array of ESOL workshops, have an ESOL specialist on staff, technology classes in Spanish as well as English, substantial collections of Spanish language materials for adults and children.
- Last but not least, more than half the branch staff speaks Spanish.
