Also included in the brochure are five year projections for continued development at World Disney World and future plans for EPCOT – Experimental Prototype Community of Tomorrow. Pages 20 and this page focus on the future plans for the 27,000 acres purchased for development by Walt Disney’s company. Future plans at the time included a family theme park similar to Disneyland in California, and entrance and reception complex to receive and welcome guests, an airport of the future offering service to private and executive aircraft as well as commercial commuter service, an industrial park designed to showcase American industry at work, a transportation system carrying guests from place to place linking the many attractions of Walt Disney World and an Experimental Prototype Community of Tomorrow (EPCOT) where people would actually live a life they could not find anywhere else in the world. An artist’s rendering of EPCOT as Walt Disney envisioned it is featured on this page – a far cry from the theme park it became. WED Enterprises, Aerojet – General Corporation, Monsanto, U.S. Steel, RCA and other companies involved in the future plans are also mentioned on these two pages.
