Archer Eugene Carpenter’s family came to Orlando in 1912 when he was 15 but then moved to Jacksonville where he graduated from high school. Graduating from the University of Florida in 1922 with a Jurist Doctor degree, he returned to Orlando to practice law, serving the Catholic Diocese as legal counsel for many years.
This interview was conducted on March 26, 1976 for the Friends of the Orlando Public Library’s Oral History Committee. We are grateful for the Orange County Regional History Center‘s making this recording available for Orlando Memory.
