Elizabeth Abbott Christ, widow of Dr. Calvin. D. Christ, a local physician / surgeon for many years. Dr. Christ and Elizabeth Abbott were married at Moorestown, New Jersey in 1911.
Her father, George Abbott, was a minister in the Society of Friends. Among other attributes making him a distinguished resident of Orlando was his great interest in growing the finer varieties of palms and providing many of his palms for the area’s beautification. Mrs. Christ was very active in community club work and served as president of the local Sorosis Club.
She was interviewed by Hatabel Hyer on June 3, 1974. We are grateful for the Orange County Regional History Center‘s making this recording available for Orlando Memory.
