Mrs. Sophia  deVedig Fischer, 97, of 800 15th St. W., Winter Haven, died Monday [December 10, 1979]. Born in Milton, she moved to Winter Haven from Gotha in 1960. She was a housewife and a Lutheran. She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Winter Haven, and the Grandmothers Club. Survivors: sons, George, Aurora, N.C., Edward and Olin, both of Windermere, Hans, Gotha; daughters, Mrs. Ernestine Weis, Winter Haven, Mrs. Irene Roth, Delray Beach, Mrs. Aletha Feraguto, Windermere, Mrs. Merriel Harrison, Orlando; 19 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. Woodlawn Funeral Home, Orlando.

Funeral Notice

FISCHER, MRS. SOPHIA DeVEDIG – Funeral services for Mrs. Sophia Fischer, 97, of 800 – 15th St., S.W. Winter Haven, who died Monday, will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Wednesday for the Woodlawn Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Paul Gurgle officiating. Interment will follow in Woodlawn Memorial Park. Mrs. Fischer is survived by her sons, George, Aurora, N.C., Edward and Olin, both of Windermere, Hans, Gotha; daughters, Mrs. Ernestine Weis, Winter Haven, Mrs. Irene Roth, Delray Beach, Mrs. Aletha Feraguto, Windermere, Mrs. Merriel Harrison, Orlando; 19 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. Woodlawn Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

 

The Florida Death Index indicates that Sophia was born on March 20, 1882.
