Pure food inspector Scott F. Conoley was well known in Orlando and his visits were frequently announced, “Watch out, here comes Scotty!”
His office was located on the first floor of the old City Hall on Orange Avenue, but his job took him out in the community.
Conoley started with the city in 1921 at age 18 as an inspector of city streets, served as Head Sanitarian for the City Health Department, and also served as a pure food inspector.
Scott F. Conoley was the first City of Orlando employee to achieve 40 years of service in the City Beautiful.
