LISTEN 29:40
The audio begins as a one-sided telephone conversation with the a member of the Delaney / Anderson family, for whom the streets in Orlando are named. Then, Eileen Willis of the Orlando Public Library reads a letter that a member of the Delaney family received in February 1875. This letter discusses some of the Delaney / Anderson family and their reason for moving to Orlando. Hatabel Hyer then discusses the property that the family held. Following that, she talks about more recent history and anecdotes about the families.
We are grateful for the Orange County Regional History Center’s making this recording available for Orlando Memory.
